He isn't for Hoarding, He is for Sharing... even sharing with the enemy

Some say evangelism is a gift. I say it is a choice.

We can either hoard Jesus or we can share Him. But I believe it is a choice to answer the call to a command. In Acts 1:8 it states, "You will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ENDS OF THE EARTH."

Jesus wants witnesses through out the whole earth. He wants all to know Him, all to follow Him, and all to know that He loves them. Today, we (the Church) like to pick who we get to save. We will choose to discuss biblical things with co-workers but only if they bring it up. We will fund missionaries to go to the other side of the world but not talk to our neighbor about Him. We will tip toe around our faith so we won't have to give an answer why we believe what we believe. We will give excuses like, "that isn't my spiritual gift". We also think we have a say in who we get to witness to. We also think we have a say in who receives grace and who doesn't.  You see this with ISIS.

They are doing evil. It is true. They are killing Christian and other innocent lives. But I can't help but have the command to tell everyone and to give everyone a witness to the truth. You see, Jesus even took the cross for those in terrorist groups. You see, He doesn't even wish to lose their souls. It is difficult for me to wrap my mind around it. I am not saying that these people need to be set free and among others. In fact, I am okay with them living in jail forever. But I am not willing to not fight for their soul because Jesus died for them, too. I am not willing to say they don't deserve grace. Because I don't deserve grace... and I haven't killed anyone. You see folks, we don't have a say in who receives grace. There isn't a line for Jesus. He doesn't choose His favorite sinners above the least favorite sinners. He shows grace to all who will accept Him and His grace.

From a prisoner (Guilty of a horrible crime) hanging on the cross next to Him (Luke 23:43) to persecutors (terrorists) like Saul who turned into Paul (Acts 9) our God is a God that shows grace to all, despite our feelings toward them. He shows grace to those who least deserve it and those who we would deem as "worthy". Our God is not a God that plays favorites. In our competitive culture, this is difficult for us to grasp. It's difficult for us to grasp that we may be in Heaven next to a child abuser but we could.... because when a soul repents, HE SHOWS GRACE.

After a conversation with my Pastor, it hit me that we (American Christian's) are much like the older brother sitting on the porch in the Parable of the Lost Son in Luke 15:11-31. You see, His brother left after wanting everything of his fathers. This brother hit rock bottom and lost everything he had with him and decided to come home. The father showed grace and was thrilled to have his son home. He ran to hug him. He threw him a party and the older son, that never wavered and stayed true to the father, was out pouting on the porch. I think it would be difficult for us American Christian's if we saw God accept men from the group called ISIS if they repented and "came home". If they found truth... would we accept that He would show them grace or would we be out on the porch pouting. But what would our world look like if instead of sitting on the porch pouting, we witness to the great grace He shows? Instead of debating who is worthy and who is not. We trust the Worthy One to make those calls and we simply share our witness faithfully. What if we courageously lived in the Spirit to makes sure all know His love? What if we simply did what we were told and spread the word to the ends of the earth instead of picking favorites on who is worthy of grace? Maybe that is why we still have places that haven't heard the gospel because we try and pick who is worthy... Stop choosing and just be a living witness. Every breath, every typed word, every single action.... let it testify to the God you serve!

Evangelism is not a spiritual gift... It is a choice. Are we going to share Jesus or hoard Him?

We are commanded to share. Praying you will fearlessly share Him!
